Our Story
The art of fruit, born in Provence
My name is Isabella
A graduate with a Master's in Business and Entrepreneurship, I built my career in finance—a world where exacting standards and attention to detail are second nature. But my real education came from my parents, professional restaurateurs, who taught me one essential thing: the taste for authenticity.
A natural gourmand, I've always had a soft spot for dried fruits—dried citrus, chocolate-covered fruits, those simple little treats you snack on guilt-free. But also for how a well-dried fruit can enhance a cocktail, decorate a plate, or transform a simple table setting into something elegant. Except in France, I couldn't find what I was looking for.
Everything changed during my honeymoon in Crete in 2021. There, a simple dried fruit—sunny, intense, unadorned—reminded me of what fruit can be when it's respected. When I returned, I tried to recapture that feeling. In vain.
It was then that I looked at what I already had at hand: our Drôme, its orchards, its generous lands, in the heart of Provence. And The Originea was born.
The idea
Back to basics
The idea for The Originea was born from a simple observation: fruit is often processed, sweetened, and standardized — even though, in its raw state, it already possesses a natural richness and elegance.
We wanted to restore fruit to its rightful place, its time, its identity. Based in the Drôme valley, in Provence, in the heart of Southern France, The Originea creates artisanal dried fruits that celebrate the exceptional products of the region.
The Choice
Slowly, at a low temperature
It all begins with a rigorous selection process, with particular attention paid to fruits from the Drôme region — a sunny and generous land, conducive to crops of character and exceptional quality. Each fruit is then sliced by hand, then slowly dehydrated at low temperature, using an artisanal process that above all respects the raw material.
At The Originea, nothing is added. No sugars — No additives — No preservatives — No shortcuts.
Inspiration
From snack to cocktail to table
Our collection includes dried citrus fruits — lemons, limes, oranges, pomelos, and clementines — as well as dehydrated seasonal fruits, signature botanical blends, and natural home fragrances inspired by the Provençal landscape.
Our dried fruit cocktail garnishes have become a staple for bartenders, mixology enthusiasts, and food lovers across Europe — a natural and elegant alternative to artificial decorations.
The requirement
Made in Provence. Delivered anywhere in Europe.
Our approach lies at the intersection of two worlds: the warmth of Provence and contemporary demands. A discreet, sincere premium, far from ostentation, close to the land.
The Originea is for those who like to understand what they consume, who appreciate detail, and who know that true luxury often lies in well-executed simplicity.
