Why our confetti is sold by the litre (not by weight)
It's the first surprise for many couples: our petals are ordered in litres, not grams. The reason is simple — a freeze-dried hydrangea petal is so light that a litre weighs just 7 to 15 grams. Selling by weight would give a misleading figure: 100 g of hydrangea would fill several bags, while 100 g of denser rose petals would fill far fewer. Volume is therefore the most reliable measure of how many "handfuls" you'll actually have. Our formats range from 0.5 L to 24 L — fourteen sizes, from a simple colour test to a 300-guest wedding.
Important: all flower petals — hydrangea and rose alike — are ordered by the litre. They simply don't have the same density: a litre of hydrangea weighs 7 to 15 g, a litre of rose petals 60 to 80 g (about five times more). But for the same guest count, the volume in litres is the same — that's what matters for ordering. Only our loose dried blends (AOP lavender, calendula, citrus) are sold by weight; for those, the 10 g-per-guest rule applies.

Don't forget the decoration (the most common mistake)
Most couples budget only for the toss — and run short of petals for everything else. Yet the same confetti serves for much more. Here are the uses to plan for on top of the toss:
- The aisle path — to line the ceremony aisle, count 2 to 4 extra litres depending on length.
- Table decoration — a few petals scattered on each tablecloth: about 0.5 L for 4 to 5 tables.
- Individual cones or bags — if you prepare them in advance, plan the toss quantity, split into one cone per guest.
- "Detail" photos — a small surplus lets your photographer compose flat-lays and close-ups.
Our workshop tip: always take one size up from your estimate. A generous cloud is spectacular; a timid toss shows immediately. And since our petals keep for 12 months (up to 1–3 years for preserved petals), a surplus is never wasted.
How many formats to order?
For a typical wedding of 80 to 120 guests, most of our customers go for 8 to 10 L of freeze-dried hydrangea petals for the toss, plus an intermediate format for the aisle and tables. You can take it all in a single shade, or mix several colours for a multicoloured effect. For large receptions, our 12 L and 24 L formats are designed for exactly this.
